Photo Friday

Friday, January 27, 2012 This photo was from last week but I wanted to share it anyway because it was such a cute moment. Jathan had invited one of his favorite girls (after Mama and his sisters, of course) up to play and they were watching a movie on the couch eating popcorn. Eden was so flirty and giggly and you could just in his eyes that Jathan was eating it up, ha ha!

Saturday, January 28, 2012 Piper in her sleepy wrap. I can't tell you how much I love that thing and I'm sure Piper feels the same way!

Saturday, January 28, 2012 Piper has learned to crawl and is exploring her new world!

Sunday, January 29, 2012 The babies love riding in the wagon.

Jathan has a new friend, "the new Rhett," because there's another friend also named Rhett. I wonder if we'll always call him that?

Piper and I kept Ryland company during bath time. And his water is yellow because he had a yellow bath fizzy. ; )

Monday, January 30, 2012 I am Mommy, holder of things and snuggler of babies.

Tuesday, January 31, 2012 Speed Demon!

Wednesday, February 1, 2012 Apparently I didn't take a picture this day?!

Thursday, February 2, 2012 The boys helped decorate the balcony for Mardi Gras. Ryland like to party hardy--he'd already lost half his clothes!

Friday, February 3, 2012 Jathan has quite the green thumb. Before Christmas he saved something from the kitchen--dried beans? can't remember--and poked them down in the soil of this pot. The plants are now thriving, whatever they are!

5 Reasons I Should Stay Off Facebook

1. TMI So, I remember the weirdest things but one brief conversation I had over 10 years ago stands out to me. It was high school and like all high school girls I had friends, enemies, and frienemies. One of my then-frienemies (we've grown up since then!) was friends with one of my enemies. Standing by the lockers one day, frienemy walks up and says in reference to enemy something like, "She shares too much information. Sometimes it's almost like, 'Hey, guys. I just farted.'" Of course, at the time I ate this up and laughed at her expense but over the years it's been a little reminder that more often than not I need to shut up. Just shut up. I've often been tempted (and have too often given in to the temptation) to over share. I think the Internet feels far safer than it really is. I need to remember that. 2. Friends...or Stalkers? Speaking of "friends", I have 321 of them. I know that number is much higher for many of you, but

The Story of Us

Do you like love stories? Who doesn't! Well, as Jackie and I prepare to celebrate our 7th anniversary tomorrow I'm ruminating on ours. It had an unexpected beginning and several surprising twists some of which threw me off so badly that I'm only now beginning to see how beautifully the Master Author has written it. I know it has had to have been in His hands because I seriously couldn't make some of this stuff up. Though Jackie and I didn't meet until 2004, but I will begin our story in 1998. That year I was 15 and pregnant. I suppose everyone thinks a baby will change your life to some degree but few people understand just to what degree that is. Because of Keeleigh a lot of things were different in my life. I traded in some of my freedom as a teenager for bottles and diapers. I remember I used to leave school and tell my friends, "Well, I'm off to play house." "Don't you wish you were just playing?" a friend asked. Really? I didn

Secrets

Can I let you in on a secret? On New Year's Day I bought a little notebook and each day since I've written in it. I'm hoping I have the guts to write unabashedly dear diary style. Then I'm hoping to use this record as notes for a book I've entitled Secrets of a Seminary Wife . I'm not talkin' secrets about how to get grass stains out of your little boys' jeans. I'm talking about a tell-all story about me--warts and all. It'll be like Tammy Faye Baker gets saved on Wisteria Lane. And maybe I will slip in some secrets on how to get grass stains out because, heck, we've gotta deal with that, too. Why? Because I wish the world knew what happens here. Here at seminary. Here in the heart of a believer. That we struggle. That half the people I know are on food stamps and Medicaid working their tails off trying to do what God has called them to do. That we sin, too--we get angry, we are lustful, we lie. That sometimes the only thing that keeps us
